
Enza Zaden is an international vegetable-breeding company, developing new vegetable varieties that are grown, sold and consumed all over the world. As an independent, family-owned business, over the years Enza Zaden has grown to more than 2,000 employees in 25 countries. Enza Zaden asked PROOF to help with the communication of its new Group strategy.
Success starts at the top
Enza Zaden’s first-ever live ‘Be One’ event connected leaders from all over the world. The Board of Directors hosted a virtual event for 175 leaders from across the organisation. As Covid-19 restrictions made a face-to-face meeting impossible, the event – a talk show with interaction from participants – was livestreamed from a studio in The Hague.
“The single most important factor for Enza Zaden's success is the commitment from the top,” said Jaap Mazereeuw. “This requires informed, motivated and capable leaders who form a united team. With this event, we aimed to share knowledge, inspire, and create involvement and commitment.”
During a two-hour session packed with information and discussion, participants gained more insights from the Board on the 2025 strategy, and heard from peers about their experiences in executing the strategy through projects. By sending in their own thoughts and questions, they could interact with the Board.
